Wiltshire teacher accused of sex offences against teenage girls committed sex crimes against four 17-year-old girls during a 20 month period sexual touching or to cause or incite a girl to engage in sexual activity

Wiltshire teacher accused of sex offences against teenage girls 3:06pm Tuesday 6th August 2013 in News Teacher Alexander Thomas has appeared in court accused of abusing his position of trust to commit sex offences on four teenage girls. Thomas, 29, is said to have committed sex crimes against four 17-year-old girls during a 20 month period. He is also accused of taking an indecent photograph of a child, possessing indecent photographs of children and having a prohibited image of a child. No charges were formally put to the defendant and he did not enter any pleas when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Friday. Thomas, who taught at The Corsham School, is accused of abusing a position of trust to commit either sexual touching or to cause or incite a girl to engage in sexual activity. It is alleged he committed both offences against one student during a period between October 2011 and August 2012. He is then said to have carried out a touching offence on a girl in May or June 2011. The incitement charges relate to two other girls, the first in September or October 2011, and the other during 2012. Thomas is also accused of taking the indecent photograph of a child between September 2010 and October 12, 2012. It is further alleged he had 78 indecent images of children and one prohibited image in Bradford on Avon at the time of his arrest, on October 17, 2012. Ads by Google British Expat In Mexico? Enquire Now The case against Thomas, who gave the court an address in Queen Elizabeth Drive, Swindon, was adjourned until October 11. He was released on bail on condition he does not contact the witnesses in the case, go to the school, or have unsupervised contact with children.
